Dodge Concept Cars For Auction


If you are one of those few who do live to search the world over for unique and one of a kind vehicles, then you might want to take part of this upcoming auction. You see, there would be a pair of Dodge Firearrow vehicles that would be put up for auction during the 36th annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car event.


The 36th annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car event would be held on the 13th of the 21st of January come the following year. This is according to a statement that the organizers of the mentioned event released just last Friday. And as per the pair of Dodge Firearrow vehicles, it would be quite an interesting fact to know that these are actually concept cars and are convertibles. They have been built in the 1950s and they are the only ones that were built during that period that are still in a more than good condition. Sure enough, these vehicles would be in mint condition and will come still bearing the original Dodge parts that it was built with.


From 1953 up until the following year, 1954, the Dodge brand was able to create four of these Firearrow concept cars. Although these vehicles did not actually reach the production stage, they were mostly produced so as to be able to bring up the interest of the consumers. It was Virgil Exner who created the designs of these concept vehicles from Dodge. And according to the organizers of the event, the pair of Dodge Firearrow concept cars is the second and the fourth vehicles that were produced. The first and the third units are no longer around.


Organizers of the 36th Barrett-Jackson event say that for those who do not know what this vehicle is, the Dodge Firearrow II (the second one produced) is a roadster that is colored yellow. And as per the Dodge Firearrow IV (the fourth and last one produced) is a convertible that holds two seats. The latter also has roll up windows, a jump seat, a folding top, a full instrumentation panel and a radio.

Choose the Right Realtor

For most people, their home is the biggest investment of their life. Whether you're buying or selling a home, you want to be sure you're maximizing that investment. Choosing the right Realtor can make a big difference in how fast you find or sell a house, the price you pay or receive and the smooth completion of the transaction.

You'll need to do some research to find the one that's right for you. It's not hard, but it will take a little time; however, finding the right match will pay off in the long run. Here are some tips from AHA:

Go with a Pro

The terms agent, broker and Realtor are often used interchangeably. But not all agents or brokers are Realtors. The term Realtor identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of Realtors and subscribes to its strict code of ethics, which in some cases goes beyond state law.

Experience Counts

Whether you're looking for a Realtor to help you buy or sell a house, you don't want to be part of someone's learning curve. One of the first questions you should ask a potential Realtor is how long they've been licensed and how long they've worked in the area, says Richard Roll, president of AHA.

Get Referrals

Friends, neighbors and co-workers are often good sources for referrals. Get as many details as possible about their buying or selling experience with a particular agent. Were they happy with the service they received? Would they use the Realtor again? You can also check the local yellow pages or search the Internet to scope out your options and find leads . If you're selling, look for sold signs in your neighborhood.

Think Locally

Both buyers and sellers should look for a Realtor who is familiar with the area, notes Roll. Ask what they have sold or listed in the neighborhood recently. If you're buying, a Realtor should be able to provide you with information on the community, the schools, taxes and other facts. If you're selling, you want your agent to be able to talk to prospective buyers about these details.

Use the Right Type of Realtor

Should you use a conventional Realtor or a buyer's broker? Many home buyers don't realize that Realtors legally work for the seller. They're making their commission from the purchase price, so they want to sell a house quickly and for the most money possible.

A buyer's broker, on the other hand, represents the best interests of the buyer, and is an option that's growing in popularity. Buyer agents are bound to keep anything you say to them confidential. Since they are not working for the seller, they are less likely to try to gloss over any problems with a particular home and do their best to make sure you find a home that is right for you. However, you will have to pay the fee for a buyer agent, either an hourly fee or a commission based on the purchase price. The key is to make a better deal on the home that you buy to cover the cost of the assistance the agent provides.

Dual Agents work out of a traditional real estate office both as a traditional agent and a buyer agent. They can take on buyers directly as clients, but since they work in a traditional real estate office, they can also represent the seller. In this situation you need to remember to keep your comments spare and look for the best deal. A dual agent cannot negotiate on the buyer's behalf and cannot recommend specific terms, including a purchase price. If you want a true buyer broker without dual agency, be sure to look for an Exclusive Buyer Broker. Split Agents do the same type of work as a dual agent, in that they can represent the buyer or seller. The main difference is that they never represent both in a transaction. If you hire a split agent as your buyer broker, they are bound to the same rules as an exclusive buyer broker. Everything you say is held in confidence and they work solely and completely in your best interest.

Discount and e-brokers provide even more choices to home buyers and sellers. Both charge less than the typical 6 percent commission for their services. Discount brokers function much like a conventional agent. However, they may not provide the full range of marketing services you would get from a convention agent. Most e-brokers do not have a brick and mortar office, which cuts down their overhead costs, a saving which they pass on to consumers. When using an e-broker, you'll typically do most of the work yourself: checking the MLS listings, making a list of properties you'd like to view, weeding out the houses that aren't a good fit for you. The transaction takes place mostly online; when you have some houses you want to see, you contact the e-broker and they put you in touch with a local agent.

Another option as a buyer is to try to go it alone, searching through the papers and looking for listing signs as you drive through different neighborhoods. This is not recommended for first time buyers, but if you are a hardy soul and want to take on the task, make sure you do your homework on each property before signing anything. Be sure to go through the remaining sections of AHA's Home University 1st Time Buyers course, so you will know how to protect yourself and make a good deal.

Stay in your range

Whether you're buying or selling, choose a Realtor who concentrates on your price range. For example, if you're looking to buy a house in the range of $250,000 to $300,000, you should check the real estate listings in the local paper to see which Realtors are listing houses in that range. A Realtor who focuses on more expensive homes won't be as knowledgeable about what's available in your price range.

Interview a Few Candidates

Once you've done some background work, set up interviews with three or four Realtors you're considering. You might also want to visit open houses to observe the agent in action. Are they familiar with the property, the area, the real estate transaction? Did they show the home in a professional manager? Did they seem enthusiastic and were they easy to communicate with?

Don't Let an Agent Buy Your Listing

If one agent says he or she can sell your house for substantially more money than the other agents quoted you, they're probably telling you what they think you want to hear in order to get your listing. Or, they may not be familiar with the market in your town or neighborhood. Statistics show that properties which are over-priced when they are listed stay on the market longer and sell for less than if they had been properly priced from the start, says AHA's Roll.

Agree on Expectations

If you're selling a house, ask your agent to put together a written marketing plan detailing the steps they will take to sell your home. The agent should offer advice on how to prepare your home for the market and who has enthusiasm for your property. If you're buying a home, make sure you know how often your agent will supply you with listings, how many houses you can expect to see in a week, etc.

Look for a Personality Match

Once you know you've narrowed your search down to qualified professionals with the right expertise, make sure you choose someone you trust and who you like. Regardless of whether you're a buyer or a seller, you'll be spending a lot of time with your Realtor and it should be someone you feel compatible and comfortable with, says Roll.

History, Characteristics and Ownership

Unique to the Western Hemisphere, this breed was discovered in the Chihuahua region of Mexico in the past 150 years. Historic evidence dates these dogs back to the Aztec and Toltec Civilizations of South America where most historians believe they were highly revered and may have been used in worship services.

The Chihuahua is classified as a 'toy dog' by the American Kennel Club. Considered the smallest breed of dog, some refer to the tiniest as 'tea cup' Chihuahuas. AKC Chihuahuas weigh 2-6 pounds and grow to be about 6-9 inches long, 6-8 inches tall and live from 12-17 years (15 is the norm) making them the longest lived breed. Coats are either short and smooth, or long and fluffy. Long pointed ears are a mark of the breed. Female dogs that are three pounds and under should not be encouraged to reproduce. Females go into heat twice a year, can give birth in 65 days and usually have 1-3 puppies.

These dogs are warm weather animals that should not be over-bathed (once a month is enough). Ears should be kept free of water to avoid infections. Chihuahuas have a natural shiver which can mean they are happy, scared, cold or anxious. Often thought of as apartment dogs perfect for big cities, Chihuahuas still need exercise. They should be walked on a regular basis and must be protected from temperatures lower then 45 degrees. Food intake should be monitored and treats discouraged to avoid weight problems. These dogs have a soft spot on the top of their heads. If injured there they can die.

Chihuahuas are very accepting of children, but also loyal and protective of their owner. They tend to latch on to one person and may bark at children that move quickly towards that person. Children can accidentally kill them and people with kids under 12 should make sure that younger kids never have access to these toy dogs without an adult present.

Self-protective due to their small size, Chihuahuas are not generally good with strangers and may try to bite in response to petting by persons unknown to them. This behavior can be corrected with some simple training. These dogs are very intelligent and quickly learn to distinguish family from outsiders. They love to play and easily learn all sorts of tricks.

Chihuahuas crave lots of attention and interaction with their owners. They like to be held, love to be petted and will wrap themselves up around your neck area to show affection. Too small to be useful as guard dogs, these animals do make excellent watch dogs. They consider a household their personal domain and will alert owners to any unusual sounds or attempted entries.

People who have fallen prey to destructive breeds that love to chew on everything in site, will really appreciate Chihuahuas. Their small snouts make this a none issue. Chihuahuas are easy to paper and leash train, but will urinate on you if handled roughly or suddenly frightened. Creating a personal space for your Chi (a doggie bed or the like) is best. Chihuahuas that feel insecure, ignored or in peril may take to tunneling into bed bottoms or dig and climb up into furniture frames.

Consult your veterinarian about grooming, booster shots, and vaccinations. These are very easy to care for animals. Tall Tales and Outright Lies About Breeding

Many animal rights groups feel that breeding dogs (especially pure breeds) is wrong. Even now they are working to restrict breeding by urging budget-strapped cities and towns to pass laws that charge non-altered pet owners huge fees just to own their animals. This, they claim, will save those areas a fortune in animal control expenses. The problem is that responsible pet owners and legitimate breeders are not the ones creating that situation.

There is an old and true belief that when you get something for nothing, it means nothing to you. Each year millions of people are lured to local animal control or rescue centers by heart touching pieces on the local news. They are told that poor Jimmy the Lab-mix puppy will be no more unless you come down and get him. Children watch these segments and fall in love with cute puppies. There is even the promise of 'pure breed dogs' available for adoption.

So everyone goes down to the Animal Control or Rescue Center, holds a few puppies and without knowing anything about the various breed mixes that make up the pup, people plunk down a small fee (usually under $50), get a puppy and the feeling that they have saved a life. But a few weeks later, that cute little puppy gets very big and a bit out of control.

When you call animal control or the rescue center, they refer you to some of the photocopied pamphlets that came with the pup. The problem is that the little pup is now big Bubba and ate the pamphlets along with lots of other things! In the end, Bubba usually ends up out on the street. After all, he didn't cost much and his owners just couldn't cope with all the destruction. Since the family didn't have the extra fifty bucks the control or rescue people wanted to fix him, Bubba is sure to make some whoopee and impregnate lots of females before ending up back at animal control as a full grown dog with virtually no hope of adoption.

Some people are fooled into believing they can get a pure breed dog at one of those places. The dog may look pure and even conform to AKC standards, but without papers no one knows if the animal has been safely and properly bred. Many of these animals are also turned back out into the street once people realize they cannot be registered.

Probably the meanest stunt ever played on people interested in adopting dogs was done by a rescue group in Los Angeles. They claimed that thousands of people were dumping pure bred Chihuahuas at their centers throughout the city. The idea was to get people who wanted to buy pure bred Chihuahuas to abandon breeders and come to the centers. The problem was that when people arrived, they found no pure bred Chihuahuas! One picture on their website and the false story lured hundreds of people to rescue centers. Once there, they were talked into adopting a different dog they really didn't want.

Puppy mills are largely to blame for negative stories about dog breeders. The AKC and responsible breeders always take a stand against such operations. Most existing laws protect consumers against being stuck with sick animals that come from these places and legitimate breeders support those laws.

The Pet Shop vs. The Breeder

If you have already decided that it's a pretty good idea to buy an AKC pup, where should you buy? That pet store in the mall looks pretty appealing. The cages are clean, most of the animals are lively and seem friendly enough. They've even got payment and credit plans. Wait, payment and credit plans??? Just how expensive are those pups?

Most people erroneously believe that buying a puppy at a pet store will insure they get a fair deal and a healthy animal. Pet shops charge you double or triple what a fair breeder might charge for the same breed of dog and shop animals are almost always from puppy mills. Pet stores support puppy mills by purchasing animals in bulk to insure a continuing supply. They push payment plans so that it doesn't seem all that expensive up front and even tack on extra vet and preparation fees. Before you know it, an AKC Puppy you can purchase from a legitimate breeder for $500-$600, ends up costing you $1000-$2000 at a pet shop! Even worse, you may not receive your AKC papers until weeks or months after the sale.

Many pet shop pups come with unwanted bonuses like kennel cough and other health problems that can show themselves within weeks of ownership. This is the result of crowded and unsanitary conditions existing at the puppy mills. Even though most pet stores go out of their way to keep animals clean, dry and well-housed, the damage was already done long before the dog arrived there. Imagine the devastating effect the death of an animal has on people once they have bonded with it, regardless of cost or legal remedies?

If the dog was sick, you can get your money back from Pet Stores, right? Wrong! Most stores rely on State Laws for their return policy. According to most State Laws, a vet must certify that a puppy was unfit for sale at the time of sale. The problem with this is that most puppy mill diseases manifest themselves in the first 30 days of ownership, not at the time of sale. No vet will risk getting sued by a store for providing you with certification of a dog's health at a time before they first see the animal (usually weeks after the sale). Why take a chance on unhealthy animals? No one can predict what health problems may develop with a live animal, but you have a much better chance of getting a healthy pet from a legitimate Breeder.

Do the right thing. Support your local breeders. They care about their animals and will not take advantage of your desire to own a loveable, healthy dog by over-charging you. Caring For Chihuahua Pups

Technically speaking, Chihuahuas remain puppies for about two years. It's during that time that you need to teach your dog everything you want it to know. Start with good feeding habits. Pups may be slow to warm up to a new owner. This might make them miss some meals and they cannot afford to do that. You can solve the problem by purchasing some puppy formula (most large pet stores have it). The best kind is powdered so you can use just what you need and keep the rest fresh until you mix it. Mix the formula with most any brand of dry puppy food and make sure they are eating the mixture. If they are not, you'll need to feed the puppy the formula using a eye dropper until it warms up to the dish with the mixture in it.

As the pup warms up to you and gets used to being away from Mom, it will begin to take the mixture. Once it starts turning away from the mixture, switch to dry puppy chow mixed with a little water to make it chewable. By 9 or 10 weeks your puppy should be on dry puppy food and a separate dish of water. Feed your dog just twice a day and make sure it has lots of water! Chihuahuas love to drink a lot of fresh water and it's good for them. They also like to eat a lot, but that's not good for them. Chis can become over-weight if you over-feed them. Avoid wet type canned foods and the feeding of table scraps. That isn't good for their teeth and they will end up with diarrhea.

If you want to paper train your animal, this isn't hard at all! Just keep you puppy on paper as much as possible for the first two weeks they live with you. Then, start to move their food and water just off the paper. Every time you see the pup begin to have a bowel movement, just place them on the paper. Dont confuse your animal by constantly relocating food and water dishes or training paper. Having a small doggie bed is also a good idea. Make sure it's near, but not on the paper. These animals are very territorial and you can use this fact to help train them.

At 9-10 weeks of age it's time to visit the Vet. Your puppy will need additional shots (bring the shot and health record you received when you purchased the pup) and should be given a fecal test for worms or other parasites. It's important to establish a good connection between your Vet and yourself. The better they know your animal, the better they'll be able to suggest treatments and care over the years. Try and stay with the same Vet or treatment facility and keep good records yourself. Many cities, towns and counties now require you to care for your dog by law. Failure to keep up with shots, properly house and care for your animal or provide for it's health and safety can be punishable by fine or imprisonment or both.

I suggest that you avoid obtaining Vet or other services from pet super stores that allow owners to bring their animals in. This practice is one of the leading ways that Parvo is spread among dogs. Parvo can make dogs very sick and even kill them. It's a virus that requires immediate hospitalization and can be fatal to pups. As a preventative measure against parvo and parasites, Puppies that haven't received all their vaccinations should be kept away from public areas (and older dogs) in a clean, feces free environment.

Chihuahuas are very small. Try to keep them as far away from human feet as possible (they love to lick and play with feet, but feet can accidentally crush their tiny paws). Never let your Chi roam without a leash or unescorted outside of your house or fenced yard and make sure your dog is never outside in temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit without protective clothing. Chihuahuas need exercise and love to play. Make sure you spend time with your animal. They love soft play toys and you'll be surprised how easily they learn to fetch their favorite toy and return it to you. But like too much food, too much exercise isn't good. You can't take a Chihuahua jogging with you! If you're planning more then just a short walk around a short block, leave your pet at home. Chihuahuas can get exhausted fast.

Chis are generally healthy dogs with few health issues. If they get a bit too much exercise, they might start panting and seem unable to stand. This usually means that they need more calcium. You can solve that problem with a quick trip to the vet or by dropper feeding your dog some regular milk. They should settle back down within 15-30 minutes. This is rare, but it does happen. Dogs that are nursing pups should always be given milk once a day as they'll lose calcium very fast. Consult your vet before trying any home remedies.

Chihuahuas will shake because they are happy, afraid, cold or anxious. This is normal and lets the dog express itself. This doesn't mean the animal is ill. Expect shaking to be a part of your Chihuahuas experience.

This article briefly tries to address myths surrounding different breeds of dogs.
There are SO many stereotypes about SO many different breeds of the domestic dog. I would like to clear some of them up. First, I will start with a very well known breed called the American Pit Bull Terrier, Pit Bull, for short. They are Very widely known as viscous killers. In some states they are illegal to own, in some countries, you must keep them chained, harnessed, and muzzled at all times when in public, and they must be spayed/neutered. Why? Because people in the 1800s thought dog fighting an exciting sport. The Pit Bull was created solely for Dog Fighting; for fighting, often to the death, with another animal (sometimes multiple animals) because people liked to watch this.

A Pit Bull is a cross between many different fighting dogs, including the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the now extinct fighting Bulldog to create the Ultimate Killing Machine in the fighting pit. A terrier's speed and wits, combined with a bulldog's strength and jaws makes a potentially deadly animal. Because the Pit Bull was bred to be mean, and bred to be pit fighters for so long, every member of the breed today has the potential to be a danger to society. Then again, any breed of animal from any species is a potential danger to society. If an animal has teeth, claws, hooves, even just a tail, it can cause harm.

Pit Bulls, when in the right hands from early on, can make wonderful pets, as well as Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, German shepherds, English Mastiffs, Bull Mastiffs and other large breeds known for being nasty and mean tempered. I've owned at least one of every breed mentioned, and I never had problems.

Now, those breeds and many more CAN be good pets, but in the Right Hands. They may not be the pet for you and only certain qualified people should be able to own one of these magnificent animals, to help prevent more attacks made by dogs that were trained to be mean or beaten. Remember, don't go solely by a breed stereotype or the way the animal looks. Poodles sure look cute, don't they? Poodles; toys, miniatures, and standards, are more likely to bite your ankles than a Rottweiler is.

English Mastiffs are big ... their teeth and jaws are large and powerful ... but that doesn't mean they're going to use them on you. Seeing an English Mastiff, more commonly known as just the Mastiff, is pretty uncommon, as they are one of the largest breeds in the world. They need experienced and strong masters, and need to be handled sensibly. Because of their size, they could easily overpower a smaller person, and can be stubborn when it comes to obedience. Despite their look and size, they are loving family dogs. Mastiffs existed in Great Britain 2,000 years ago, and were exported to Rome as Military and fighting dogs. They require a lot of room to run and eat a lot, so if you live in an apartment in the city and have little money to spare after your own needs are met, I wouldn't recommend a Mastiff.

Bullmastiffs are pretty much the same way. Though smaller than the Mastiff, they still require experienced handlers. The Bullmastiff is faster, and more active than the Mastiff. The males, especially when left intact are more likely to be aloof of strangers and may be troublesome with other (male) dogs. The foundation stock of the Bullmastiff is said to be 60% Mastiff and 40% bulldog ... produced to act as a gamekeeper's assistant, with the ability to chase and immobilize poachers/intruders, without killing them. As a guard dog, this breed is equal to the Rottweiler, but tends to be overly protective of its human family and resistant to obedience training.

German Shepherds, due to being a very popular breed, have been poorly bred in recent years, causing arthritis of the joints, eye disease, gastrointestinal disease, and other medical problems to occur in a majority of the population. Nervousness, fearfulness, timidity, and aggression to other dogs as well as other behavioral problems have become common in the breed. When bred carefully, however, German Shepherds are a wonderful breed ... calm, reliable, responsive, and obedient pets.

Doberman Pinschers,(Dobermans) are affectionately referred to as Dobies by their owners. This elegant, often affectionate breed is a result of the purposeful breeding of the Rottweiler, German Pinscher, Manchester Terrier, English Greyhound, and Weimaraner to create a speedy guard and military dog. They are fast and intelligent, but because of unscrupulous breeding and misrepresentation, the reputation of these obedient, alert and resourceful companion and service dogs, has gone bad. Nervousness and fear biting can occur in some individuals but a good breeder will ensure that his/her dogs are neither shy nor vicious. They are often times not very friendly when it comes to other dogs, so early socialization is a must. An unfortunate and serious problem in Dobermans is heart disease. They are good working and companion dogs, but, as with any dog, it is not recommended that they be left alone with small children or animals.

Now to the Rottweiler, which is currently one of the most popular breed in the US. Yet another breed suffering from poor breeding, more and more behavioral problems have shown up in this magnificent breed. Aggression towards humans as well as other dogs has become an increasing problem with Rottweiler, they are a strong-willed, intelligent breed that should only go to dedicated, active owners. They are great guard and family dogs, aloof of strangers and protective of their territory, but can't get enough attention. They are very strong and need a lot of exercise. There are two 'types' of Rottweiler, the German Rottweiler and what's known as the American Rottweiler, which are different mainly in appearance. The German Rottweiler has a slightly heavier build, thicker necks, bigger heads with shorter, broader muzzles, smaller feet and ears, usually the same height as the average American Rottweiler, but weighs Aprox. 15-20 pounds more. The Am. Rottweiler is taller for their weight than the German breeds. The American Rottweiler has the exact same brown on black pattern, but are of a slimmer build, longer legs, with bigger feet, a longer but not overly so or pointed muzzle, they have longer ears and their tails, I find, are usually docked shorter.

I have had problems with the American Rottweilers in more recent times. Americans, I find, have a tendency to be more aggressive with other dogs and strangers. All Rottweilers, considered American or German, are, in fact, German. Bred in Germany as a cattle drover and guard dog. The Rottweilers protected herds of cattle and took them to town, it is said the farmers had them wear heavy spiked collars to protect them in fights and that after the cows had been sold, the money was put in a small box, which was then tied to the dog's neck for safekeeping.

****Myths****

Here are two common myths for you: My dog will turn on me if I feed him raw meat. This is NOT TRUE, and highly unlikely even if you are feeding your dog YOUR OWN flesh. In fact, for most dogs, raw meat is good for them, and an occasional bone purchased at the grocery store with raw meat on it, it a very tasty treat. Some dogs can get snappy, though, and possessive of the meat or bone, which you have to watch out for. More information about Food Aggression can be seen at the bottom of the page. When you reach down to pick the bone up off the floor and your dog growls at you, let it know that is NOT acceptable behavior, but don't put yourself in a situation where you may be bit. Don't hit the dog, talk soothingly to get it to stop growling, and slowly, very slowly, pick up the bone, or, don't, and just stand up (slowly). But, don't mistake a play growl or alking with threatening behavior, a deep, rumbling growl mixed with short, medium pitched yips is most likely a warning, but when it just sounds like a little kid saying RRRRRRRR, they are most likely playing. My Rottweiler, Cain, growl/barks and dances when he wants my attention, some people would think it is aggressive behavior but most just think he's a nut case. Also, some dogs will smile at you when they are happy or excited by lifting their upper lip and exposing their teeth, and if you watch closely, they most likely also hold back their ears and wag their tail so vigorously their whole body shakes.

Cats and Dogs are Born Enemies. This isn't always true, I've had cats that think themselves to be dogs, and dogs that don't know exactly what they are (human or cat?). As I said on the first page, every animal has its own personality, meaning it has its likes and dislikes. Advice on potty training your dog
You've just brought home this adorable little puppy and in appreciation he has left you a present, a smelly little pile of poop. What do you do now? Day one with puppy is time to start training. You want to start right away before bad behavior becomes a habit.

To start with, confine your pet with either a child's safety gate, in one room or in a doggy crate. The less room the better, dogs don't usually defecate or urinate in their own beds, to much space and he/she will go in one area and sleep in another. Freedom is earned with good behavior, peeing and pooping outside.

The next step take determination, patience and endurance on your part. Start by putting your pet on a leash and taking him out every two hours. He will need to go out during the night also. But make sure you stay strictly business at night time, unless you want to have play time in the middle of the night, every night. By the time he is four months old he should be able to hold himself through the night. Choose a place near the house where you would like him to go. Take him there, on the leash, let him sniff around about five minutes or so. Use words to encourage him to go. Use the same word or phrase every time. If he gets distracted, and puppies are easily distracted, a gentle tug on the leash and repeating the word or phase you have chosen to use to mean peeing or pooping should do the trick. Otherwise just stand there and wait. If he doesn't go don't worry, just go back inside and try again in 15 or 20 minute intervals till he does. When he does go, praise him with words during the act and loving or a treat after. Don't just send him outside by himself. You must be there in person to praise during and immediately after the act.

You will have to do this every two hours and within twenty to thirty minutes of eating or drinking, time this to know exactly when is right for your pet. Get the puppy on a regular schedule of breakfast and dinner at the same time every day. Puppies will also need to go every time there is a change in activity, like from playing to sleeping or chewing or eating. Get to know your puppies signals, a facial expression, sniffing around for a place to go or suddenly stopping whatever he is doing. Anticipate his need.

There are specific times, like first thing in the morning, that you know he will need to go. These times will be the easiest to catch and reinforce good behavior.

Always reward good behavior. Avoid reinforcing bad behavior, don't rub his nose in it or holler and scream. The worst punishment to your adoring little pet is to ignore him. Simply crate him and ignore him. Never let him see you clean up his messes and always use a pet odor removal product.

If you are still having trouble, ask yourself, are you taking him out enough? Is there any physical reason, ie. parasites or urinary tract infection? Are you expecting to much to soon? Do you consistently praise for good behavior and ignore bad behavior?

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, a majority of stroller accidents are caused by tipping. Whether caused by standing children, or unbalanced loads, the result is usually an abrasion or laceration.


However, a much more serious accident that doubles in number each year is one involving a motor vehicle and a stroller. Every year, hundreds of children are seriously injured or killed by otherwise cautious drivers that simply do not see a child stroller in a crosswalk or a parking lot.


Picture this real-life scenario:
You're waiting at the cross walk with your baby in a stroller, trying to peek over the car parked on the side of the road to see if it's clear so that you and your baby can cross safely.


It looks all clear. You push your stroller in front of you, and as the stroller is emerging from behind the parked car, suddenly another car or a truck comes speeding down the street or around the corner.


The driver does not see the stroller because it's below his eye level, the driver does not see you because you are blocked by the parked car, the driver has no idea that your stroller and your baby are in his path.

A Bikini Overview

Many women are a little uncomfortable wearing bikini swimwear. If you've got bulges anywhere, the bikini will show it off! Backgammon Game Rules


The rules of backgammon have been the same for many years. Many people have been playing the game and taking the challenge of backgammon and many off them realized that the rules are quite simple and fun. This may be the reason for the increasing popularity of this game.


The object of the game is move all your checkers into your own home board and then bear them off. The first player to bear off all of their checkers wins the game.


The roll of the dice indicates how many points, or pips, the player is to move his checkers. The checkers are always moved forward, to a lower-numbered point.


A checker may be moved only to an open point, one that is not occupied by two or more opposing checkers. The numbers on the two dice constitute separate moves. For example, if a player rolls 5 and 3, he may move one checker five spaces to an open point and another checker three spaces to an open point, or he may move the one checker a total of eight spaces to an open point.


A player who rolls doubles plays the numbers shown on the dice twice. A player must use both numbers of a roll if this is legally possible (or all four numbers of a double). When only one number can be played, the player must play that number. When neither number can be used, the player loses his turn.


At the end of the game, if the losing player has borne off at least one checker, he loses only the value showing on the doubling cube (one point, if there have been no doubles). However, if the loser has not borne off any of his checkers, he is gammoned and loses twice the value of the doubling cube. Or, worse, if the loser has not borne off any of his checkers and still has a checker on the bar or in the winner's home board, he is backgammoned and loses three times the value of the doubling cube.


At first all these rules may be tricky and pretty hard to remember so if you get confused just take the instructions and read them again. Anyway the more you play you'll see that it will be really easy to remember all the rules.

Home Buyers And Sellers Have Agency Relationships With Realty Agents

One of the most under-reported topics in real estate are the relationships real estate consumers have with real estate agents. Known as agency, the type of agency relationship you have with a real estate professional could impact the purchase or sale of a home. Mark Nash author of 1001 Tips for Buying and Selling a Home shares the ins' and outs of agency in residential real estate.

-Agency. The relationship between someone who is licensed as a real estate broker or salesperson and the person he or she represents, who is the principal. State laws vary on agency relationships, verify in your state what and how agency is defined.

-Fiduciary. Agents under agency laws have a relationship with the principal or client based on trust and confidence.

-Establishing an agency relationship. Written or oral (depending on state law) where brokerage services are provided to a buyer, renter, or seller in return for compensation. In some situations an implied agency relationship is created, through mutual consent and actions. You attend an open house and the host who is the listing agent offers to show you other properties and you consent.

-Dual agency. You are shown a home you are interested in by the listing agent, who has a brokerage agreement and an agency relationship with the seller. You decided to purchase the home and use the listing agent as your representative. This agent must disclose to you that they are now a dual agent, representing both the seller and buyer in the transaction. Not recommended. Undisclosed dual agency is against the law.

-Disclosure of agency by real estate agents. Mandatory in all states. An agent must disclose who they have a fiduciary relationship with.

-Buyer agency. The formal or informal agency relationship between a buyer and an agent who has a fiduciary relationship to the buyer. Preferred.

-How buyers agents can be compensated. Either the buyer pays compensation to their agent or the seller can compensate the buyers agent. Even though the buyers agent has a fiduciary relationship with the buyer, the agent can still be compensated by the seller through the sellers agent.

It's hard being short in the world of fashion jeans today and most petite jeans just don't cut it. Yes we have staples and masking tape for those quick hem jobs, and yes we could make a quilt with all the hems that we've hacked off, but those are small comforts when you want to look great right off the rack. What is a short girl to do?


Tips for the not so tall


Let's start with style. There are a lot of styles out there that will work for you, including two of the hottest looks right now.


Those great skinny styles you've been seeing everywhere are often shorter in length, a big plus for you. If they're still too long, scrunch them up around the ankle it's the chicest way to wear them.


Straight leg styles are also back with a vengeance, they look great cuffed up and a cuff is the quickest route to a short jean without a visit to a tailor (just be sure that your cuff is not too wide). Pair them with heels or a nice pointy toed flat that will visually extend the length of your leg. Straight is also easy to hem.


Wear your jeans slightly longer; about ? from the ground with your heels on, it will maximize your leg length.


Look for a crease detail on the leg. A vertical fade or crease down the center of the pant leg adds visual length and slimness to your leg.


Look for clean, dark washes, not so hard these days. A uniform color from waist to hem will make your legs look longer and has the added benefit of making you look slimmer.


Avoid super low rises. A mid rise with a slight upward tilt at the back waist is another great leg lengthening trick.


Stay away from wide leg and trouser styles with heavier hem details. They will add bulk to your shape making you look shorter and wider than you really are.


Cut it off


If all else fails or what you love only comes in a long length, pay to get your jeans shortened! It is definitely worth the $10- $15 bucks extra to get a great looking jean.


There are some tricks to choosing a jean style that will shorten well without loosing it's cool.


Choose a flare leg style to start, once you shorten it 2-3 you'll be left with a great looking boot cut.


Pay attention to where the knee breaks. Most designer jeans have placed it fairly high so it will still work with your shorter proportions. If it's lower, you run the risk of it being too low for you, throwing off the proportions of the jean.


The same goes with wash and sandblasting details, make sure that they are not placed too low on the jean. They will look all wrong after you hem. Don't, however, worry about wash and distressing details at the hem. A good tailor will be able to preserve the original hem on your newly shortened jeans.


You can check the proportions when you are trying on the jean by folding up the leg to your desired length (it works best to fold to the inside of the pant), and make sure you have on the right shoes!


Off the rack


Look for brands that do offer shorter length jeans. We're not talking petites jeans here; those are usually the frumpy styles that you wouldn't be caught dead in. Real Estate Q & A

Q. My property went into a sixty day escrow. The escrow amount was $3,000.00. Five days prior to closing the buyer's agent notified me that the contract would be cancelled due to the fact that the property did not appraise for the agreed upon value. Is the buyer's escrow forfeited?

A. In any situation, you must first turn to the closing contract itself. You should look for deadlines for certain things to occur, such as appraisals. Did this appraisal occur after the deadline? Were any other terms involving deadlines not met by the buyer? This will give you some insight as to whether or not the escrow monies must be returned. A general rule of thumb is that escrow monies cannot be released without the consent of all parties.

Q. We had a closing date set. I have just been informed that the seller is requesting a delay in the closing date. Do I have legitimate grounds for renogiation of the purchase price?

A. The reasons that a seller may wish to delay closing may vary, from the legitimate to outright procrastination. If you attempt to renegotiate the purchase price, it may be considered as a new offer, which replaces the original offer. This may therefore void the original offer and all terms negotiated pursuant to that offer. The safest way to approach this is to simply ask yourself if you are willing to wait for the property at the originally agreed upon price.

Q. I am purchasing a property. The seller has not found a replacement property, and has requested an extension of the escrow period. If I do not agree to the extension, do I lose appraisal and inspection fees, as well as my deposit?

A. The deposit will likely be refunded less a small cancellation fee. The appraisal and inspection fees will most likely be lost. If you agree to the extension, be sure to place deadlines on the seller, such as a time by which a replacement property must be found.

Q. I decided to purchase a particular home, however I have now changed my mind. How do I go about cancelling the contract?

A. A contract is a legal document which you have made with the seller. Cancellation for certain reasons may be allowed, however cancellation on the sole basis of changing your mind will likely come with ramifications. You should strongly consider these ramifications prior to backing out of the deal. You should consult an attorney regarding your potential liability in this situation. Typically, a contract cannot force parties to a transaction, however you may be responsible for paying damages to the seller. These damages can take many forms, including the lost opportunities that the seller missed as the result of taking his or her home off the market.

Q. I signed a contract to sell my home. Now I have changed my mind and want to keep the property. Must we sell our home?

A. Again, the first thing to do is to look at the legal document itself. Look for contingencies which will allow you to back out of the transaction. The buyer may decide to enforce the contract in court. You should consult an attorney. It would be wise to make the cancellation more palatable to the buyer by compensating him or her for all of their out of pocket expenses, and maybe an additional amount for their time and effort in negotiating the transaction.

Q. I made an offer on a property. The seller came back with a counter offer. May the seller subsequently sell the property to another buyer?

A. Typically, the seller is free to sell the property to the first buyer who accepts an offer. If you have not accepted the counter offer, chances are the seller is free to do as he or she pleases.

Q. Can I negotiate the selling price of a newly-constructed home?

A. You can always negotiate the selling price of any real estate. However, the seller of a newly-constructed home is usually not willing to budge on the price, for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is the small profit margin for transactions involving newly constructed homes.

Tips For Choosing The Right Camping Backpack

A person who is not experienced with camping or hiking may think that all backpacks are the same, but that is far from the truth. For a camper who is serious about making the most out of a camping trip, a backpack can make or break an excursion to the woods.

Take the plight of a trekker who traveled to the Appalachians in 1994. Rather than a thrilling camping expedition, he needed to return home injured from the weight of an ill-fitted backpack that damaged his hips. A decade later, the same hiker, utilizing a backpack more suited to his needs, walked over 950 miles of terrain, turning what could have been another ugly experience into a more pleasant memory.

There are a few key tips you should bear in mind when selecting a backpack for the outdoors.

First, you need to assemble a fairly comprehensive list of gear you need to bring on the trip. Whereas some campers prefer to haul a bare minimum, others like to be well equipped and ready for almost any eventuality. Consequently, the size of your backpack is important. If you intend to camp or hike for several days - or even simply overnight -you need a sufficient amount of supplies to cover your time and prospective needs.

Second, make sure your backpack is comfortable to wear for a lengthy period of time. The best styles of backpacks distribute the weight in the bag evenly so that you can wear it comfortably for a few hours while hiking. Try it on at the store to ensure it meets your need. Some camping stores even provide weights inside so you get the full effect of the backpack. By placing these in the pack, you can walk around the store to get a sense of how well the weight distributes and how much you can actually hold while remaining comfortable and not overly straining your back or shoulders.

Third, select a frame for the backpack. You can choose between an internal and external frame, each of which has advantages and disadvantages. Internal frames are more slender and allow the pack to remain close to your body which makes it great for densely wooded and more narrow trails. They do not restrain your ability to move in the least, but are admittedly more cumbersome to load and sometimes do not hold as much gear.

External frames, on the other hand, are great for clear walking paths and wider trails and are generally easier to pack. However, they tend to restrict mobility because they are larger and less flexible, making them seem more uncomfortable at first. External frames are the best option, though, when buying a backpack for beginners or children.

Finally, when purchasing a backpack, take into consideration whether it is designed to work efficiently with weather sheets that help protect your pack against dew and rain. Also assess how attachments can be accommodated for your pack. Most backpacks have either rings or snap-ons (or both), allowing the convenient integration of accessories with your pack.

Finding a backpack doesn't need to be a challenge if you familiarize yourself with options ahead of time. By following these few tips, you should be able to purchase one that fits your budget and your camping experience needs, helping to make sure you have a wonderful adventure in the woods.

It is recommended that you use rearward facing baby car seats for as long as your baby can fit on it. You will know your baby needs to move on to a bigger seat if her head is as high or even higher than the crown of the car seat or if her weight is or has already exceeded the maximum.


As your child outgrows his rear facing seat, you need now to get her a forward facing seat. This type of seat can hold a toddler of 9 to 18 kilograms or around 20 to 40 pounds, whose age could be between 9 months to 4 years old. The important factor with forward facing kid car seats is the harness that keeps the child safe in place. This should prevent the child from sliding off or bouncing in front out of the chair in case there is a collision or if dad accidentally puts on the brakes too hard. Just the same, it is favored that this seat be placed in the rear and to keep your toddler in such a seat until his age or his weight tells you to move on to the next level.
